ABOUT SERGEANT WISE

My name is John Sergeant Wise, “Sarge” for short, and I'm a bird addict. No seriously, I'm worse than the dogs sometimes. All jokes aside, I'm a young man from Tennessee with a passion for chasing birds, getting outdoors, running my dogs, and enjoying all the simple things nature has to offer-- fishing, hiking, rafting, camping, and

HUNTING.

That's all I ever did growing up.

It’s what I aim to do  for the rest of my life. Who better to take along for the journey than man's best friend? 

I have been fortunate enough to experiment with a couple of different career paths.

My professional background consists of construction, disaster relief services, real estate, and farming. You could say I'm a jack of all trades, but nothing compares to my true passion…bird dogs and “the chase.” 

I am currently providing guiding services through various outfitting partners in the Southwest, Oklahoma,New Mexico and Saskatchewan, Canada.

I've been on several road trips over the last 13 years scouting, plotting, and planning sites to come back to with my pups. I would be happy to share my passion and knowledge for upland birds with you!

MEET THE TEAM

  • Georgia

    GEORGIA

    Georgia is an English Cocker Spaniel from Shadow Oakes plantation in Georgia. She will mostly likely be your favorite dog you’ve ever met. This little bundle of joy never misses a hunt! Don’t let looks deceive you, she’s a hell of a flusher.

  • OTIS

    Otis is a Brittany Spaniel from Windswept Ridge Kennel out of Montana. Trained by Nastra trainers from Kentucky and South Carolina. He’s is competitive to retrieve, but has a sweet side as well. He loves to snuggle with his best friend—Georgia.

  • OBI

    Obi is a English Setter from Summer City, TN from renowned trainer, Hunter Payne, at Gun Dog Development. This Setter is poised and ready for business. He is a field veteran--across country-- hunter. Obi is a true bird dog. He is as tough as they come.

  • BURGOYNE (BERGY)

    Bergy is a Brittany Spaniel from breeder and vet, Gary Ramsey, in North Carolina. Her puppy is Crush. Bergy has had two litters, but she still glide through the field like she’s floating. She also is great at “hunting dead.”

  • CROW

    Crow is an English Setter. He is Obi’s cousin. He is an even tempered, mostly black setter with a drive for prey that is out of this world. He is truly amazing to watch work but he is also a total weirdo.

  • CRUSH

    Crush is the proud offspring of Obi and Bergy (a.k.a. a Brittany Spaniel/English Setter mix.) Although she is young, she shows a lot of promise and appears to share the same drive for birds that her father has. This pupper brings a robin to our back porch daily. She is on track to replace Obi as Sergeant’s “best hunting dog.”

  • BLUE

    Blue is an English Setter from “who the hell knows where.” He is a silver bullet. His speed and agility are unbelievable.

  • COURAGE

    Courage is an English Pointer. He is still in training at Hunter Payne’s Gun Dog Development Program, but he is on track to replace our older English Pointer—Sully.
